Baranow Art Gallery at Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong: Record-Breaking Sales and a Triumphant Entry into the Asian Market

19.05.2026

Hong Kong / Vienna/ Moscow — Baranow Art Gallery proudly presented a collection of works by masters of contemporary Russian art at the international Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong, achieving tremendous success. Participating in one of Asia’s most influential art platforms not only opened a dialogue with Hong Kong’s discerning public but also delivered record-breaking sales figures.

The undisputed hits of the exhibition and the absolute sales leaders were the "Message" collection and the works of Vyacheslav Gayun:

The "Message" collection — a conceptual body of work exploring the language of visual codes, cultural signals, and emotional messages in contemporary art — caused a sensation. The public was absolutely delighted: visitors returned to the works again and again, admired the depth of the concept, took endless photos, and enthusiastically recommended the booth to their friends. Curators, collectors, and critics unanimously praised the artistic execution and the universal language of "Message," which needs no translation in any market.

Vyacheslav Gayun stood as an important pillar of the gallery’s triumph at the fair. His energetic, philosophically rich graphic art deeply resonated with Asian viewers. Gayun’s sales were equally successful — dozens of his works found new owners in China and other Asian countries. This is brilliant proof that Gayun is an artist with immense international potential.

All of the works presented at the booth generated genuine delight among the audience. Each piece found its viewer — someone who spent a long time looking, asking questions, and sharing emotions. We were thrilled to present paintings by such unique artists as Ivan Korshunov, Walerij Baranow, Pavel Kuragin, Elena Shipilova, and Anton Kolokolov. All of them were warmly received by the captivated fair visitors!

Thanks to such a reception, our booth remained one of the most visited throughout the fair. We held dozens of substantive conversations with representatives of Asian galleries, private collectors, and institutional curators. Record-breaking sales and the overwhelming delight of the public are the best proof that we have laid a solid foundation for a long-term presence in the Asian art market.

"For us, participating in Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong is not just a success story — it is a historic result. We brought the 'Message' collection and Vyacheslav Gayun’s works here to establish the gallery as a serious international player. And we achieved this in spades: explosive sales, the public’s full delight, deep engagement from professionals, and a record number of paintings sold. The Asian market welcomed us beyond our wildest dreams. Negotiations on the remaining works continue, and we are confident that more records lie ahead," commented Walerij Baranow, founder of Baranow Art Gallery.

Baranow Art Gallery will continue its systematic development of the Asian direction, and the "Message" collection, along with the other presented works that generated such vivid resonance, will be featured at upcoming international venues in the 2026 season. Stay tuned for our announcements!
