Winter is portrayed as a medieval queen.This is how I imagined winter in my childhood — majestic and austere, with a high medieval "truffo orfovre" hairstyle, and of course, a bullfinch. I thought these birds appeared only in winter, as I never saw them during the summer.
This painting is part of the series "4 Seasons. 4 Souls," dedicated to the portrait representations of the seasons. This series is the realization of a long-held dream. In my childhood, I was inspired by the cycle "The Seasons" by Alphonse Mucha and dreamt of creating my own interpretation of this theme.
The painting was presented at the “St. Petersburg Art Week 2022” international exhibition, the “By the Selfie Method” exhibition at the Urbanfresco Gallery (2022), the “Talent of Russia 2022” exhibition at the New Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the professional artists’ exhibition “Autumn Vernissage 2023” in Serpukhov, the “Christmas Palette 2025” exhibition at the A.S. Pushkin State Museum, and at three solo exhibitions.
AWARD: 1st place in the international contemporary art competition “St. Petersburg Art Week 2022.”
