The theme of the work was the value of quiet moments in life. After all, warmth is able to withstand all the adversities of the surrounding reality. Sincere feelings can overcome the palpable winter cold of the northern capital, St. Petersburg. The flowers in the shop are impersonal: they are a "cold" commodity. But when they are purchased for a loved one, carried home in bad weather and given away, they acquire a real soul: they become a "warm" sign of attention.
