The theme of the work was the value of quiet moments in life. After all, warmth is able to withstand all the adversities of the surrounding reality. Sincere feelings can overcome the palpable winter cold of the northern capital, St. Petersburg. The flowers in the shop are impersonal: they are a "cold" commodity.
