Картина написана в начале марта в заповедном лесу. В это время природа просыпается после зимнего сна - зеленеет трава, поют птицы, день становится длиннее.
Переход от одного сезона к другому играет важную роль в моей работе - я могу запечатлеть естественные оттенки, уникальные для этого времени. Картина «Игра оранжевого и пурпурного в соснах» запечатлела все оттенки ранней весны в лесу: насыщенно-зеленые цвета сосен и елей, оранжевые оттенки коры деревьев и пронзительный фиолетовый - иллюзию солнечных бликов.
