Vyacheslav Gayun’s painting “Portrait” is an unexpected and minimalist piece that challenges the traditional understanding of the genre. Instead of depicting a human face, the artist creates a monumental “portrait” of the most ordinary objects – a spoon and a fork.
The entire composition is enveloped in a rich, tactile texture of golden-yellow color. This background is not uniform; it vibrates with numerous shades of ochre, mustard, and golden ochre, creating the impression of aged, richly decorated metal or an ancient scroll.

In the lower left corner, the artist’s characteristic signature can be seen, integrated into the texture of the golden background.
