Maria Lisichenko

Maria Lisichenko

Country: Russia ·Born in 1977

I was born in 1977 in the town of Lytkarino, Moscow Region. I have been drawing since early childhood and throughout my entire life. In 1997, I graduated from the Moscow Academic Art School in memory of 1905, and later, in 2005, from the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute. I am a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia. I have taught at both the Moscow Academic Art School and the Surikov Institute, as well as at various art schools. I am a regular participant in exhibitions in Moscow and many other cities. I have been awarded a diploma by the Moscow Union of Artists for my fruitful teaching and creative work. My artworks are held in private collections, foundations, and museums in Russia, Belarus, and Germany.

"As in life, my art is always in motion — a process of feeling, searching, and rediscovering. Important generalizations and images emerge — not new, but reborn once again. My creative search stems from a constant desire to reveal the structures that show through the visible world. I strive to find the right means of expression so that what is created stands as an equal to the living. It is essential for me to find a metaphor, a poetic parallel, a plastic rhyme. I love light — I enjoy when colors radiate. Creativity and life, to me, are like two kinds of light: the outer and the inner."

I present to your attention a series of paintings titled “Vast Fields.” In this work, I explore space — its color, its symbol, its cosmos. The series is about inner silence, immersion, and unity with nature. It was deeply important for me to see the world anew — immense, alive, breathing, triumphant. Air, light, and expanse. To soar like a bird or sprout like grass. The field becomes the cosmos — an energy field, that which lies within my field of vision. The micro and the macro, a small world containing vast phenomena. Living paint conveys the humidity, tremor, and vitality of the earth, of plants, of changing light. The paint itself becomes akin to nature, revealing its very structure. The images are distilled into symbols, recognizable through color. Broad stretches of earth and sky interact, rhyme with one another, revealing their kinship — a shared story of a single space, ever alive and ever generating life.
