My art is a journey of exploration, experimentation, and attempts to express my ideas and emotions through painting. I do not limit myself to a single style or genre: my works organically blend realism and abstraction, objectivity and symbolism, allowing me to explore various facets of visual art.
About me and my creative path
I was born in 1967 in the city of Bugulma (TASSR). From an early age, I was passionate about drawing, but I only seriously devoted myself to painting a few years ago. Having received an engineering education (Bauman Moscow State Technical University), I remained a lover of painting as a viewer for a long time until 25 years ago I took up oil paints and began my own path as an artist.
Today, my portfolio includes over 400 oil and acrylic works, some of which are in private collections in Russia and abroad (Germany, Italy, Japan, France, Brazil, China).
Since 2023, I have been a member of the Союз Русских Художников, and since 2024 — of the Eurasian Art Union. I have participated in numerous exhibitions in Russia (СРХ, ЕХС, Moscow Union of Artists, "Unique Russia," and others) and abroad (China, India, Egypt).
Main philosophy of creativity
My primary creative principle is the freedom of artistic exploration. I am interested in the process of investigation itself: how the same idea can be expressed through different techniques, how the perception of reality changes through the prism of abstraction and metaphor. I strive to capture and convey the essence of things — not their external appearance, but the inner content, the "spirit" of an object or phenomenon.
In my works, I explore:
• the connection between humans and nature (through landscapes, still lifes, images of elements);
• the "transience" of time (through metaphors of water, light, movement, and the Universe as a backdrop);
• the harmony of opposites (calm and dynamics, chaos and order, reality and fantasy);
• the depths of the subconscious (abstract-symbolic "mental images," perception, and memory).
Key directions and styles
My creative path has gone through several stages:
1. Realistic works — striving for accuracy of depiction, mainly oil landscapes (detail elaboration, composition, color scheme).
2. Synthesis of realism and abstraction, mixing other styles — preserving recognizable images with free interpretation of form and color, semantic emphasis on details or perspective.
3. Abstract-symbolic stage — experiments with depicting sensations, feelings, philosophical ideas through non-objective and symbolic painting, projections of perception, working with different media.
Sources of inspiration
My works are born from:
• observations of nature, city life, and "people";
• personal experiences and memories (mental images);
• music (the author is among the top 100 DJs on the popular portal promodj.com), poetry, architecture;
• classical painting traditions (mainly influenced by Impressionism/Post-Impressionism);
• synthesis of artistic movements (Expressionism, Surrealism, Postmodernism, and Pop Art);
• travel and cultural codes of different countries (Eastern aesthetics, European tradition, etc.).
Goals and objectives
I set several creative tasks for myself:
1. To metaphorically convey emotional states through color and form ("even delight can be different! :)").
2. To show the multifaceted nature of reality — from tangible concreteness and "fantastic realism" to the elusive associations of familiar things and phenomena.
3. To make the viewer think, to see the unusual in the ordinary, the deep meaning in the simple.
4. To create a dialogue between the painting and the viewer, hoping that the viewer understands the artist’s intention and each finds their own meaning.
5. To explore the boundaries of expressive means in painting, combining tradition and innovation, synthesizing various media to enhance the perception of the idea (+touch, smell, hearing).
Examples of recent thematic series
Who among us did not dream in childhood of being on a deserted island or landing on an unknown planet aboard a spaceship?!)) Just to see and feel... colors, shapes, sounds, smells..
To see now, you don't even have to be an astronaut — our vast and diverse world is full of mysteries, puzzles, and beauty...
"Landing" (as is). The object of study becomes the existing organization and form of space in nature...
"Landing №3" opens the series (1 and 2 are left by the author to reflect on the backstory) with images of large and cold forms of a planet where a living ship — the "roe" — appeared, a contrasting foreign point — the point of landing...
• and "Chronicles of Pandora" (as it could be) — not so much a reference to the well-known sci-fi film as a hymn to the mighty power of pristine nature, which, nevertheless, we can lose as a result of destructive cataclysms or human actions. This is an attempt to penetrate the very harmony and balance of elements, forms, and colors. Currently, the series includes 9 works (3 in private collections).
The development of the series involves works in the style of "fantastic realism," including elements of "bionic architecture" of the future.
• "Mental images" — experiments with non-objective painting where images arise from sensations, music, and dreams.
Philosophical basis
My art is an attempt to comprehend the connection between humans and the world, to capture the elusive: the fleeting moment, the depth of emotion, the rhythm of existence. Each painting for me is not an answer but a question to the viewer:
• How do you see this world?
• What does beauty mean to you?
• Where is the boundary between reality and fantasy?
Conclusion
I see my mission as sharing my discoveries, emotions, and reflections with people through painting. My works are an invitation to contemplation, dialogue, and the search for meaning. I do not seek to dictate a "correct" interpretation to the viewer but create a space for personal associations and experiences.
I hope my paintings become a source of inspiration for viewers, a reason to smile, to think, or simply to pause for a moment and feel the beauty of the surrounding world. For me, art is a way to slow down time, hear oneself, and see the miracle in every detail of existence.
