I graduated from Vasnetsov Art College in Abramtsevo (Moscow region) in 2006, and then I took an Art course at the Russian Art Academy.
My name is Larisa Lavrova. I am a full-time artist who can’t imagine a day without painting. My experience with oil painting is about 18 years.
I came to oil painting through a circuitous route, having drawn for most of my life and eventually being re-introduced to painting as my preferred medium to create my work. It was a long journey to find my style of painting. Inspiration and process: I love experimenting and want to give my artworks an individual expression. Every painting is a one-of-a-kind work in which I try to combine feelings, thoughts, styles, and techniques. These create, add depth, and harmonize colors and the whole artwork. I like to play with light on canvas. My artworks are colorful and bright. I work most of the time with oil, but I also mix oil with acrylic. In my work, I aim to capture the exhilaration or the thrill of the moment and translate that onto the canvas. I always try to present an ethereal, dreamlike quality to the work, emphasizing a fleeting heartbeat in time.
I look deep into myself, into the world surrounding me. I am fond of nature and try to see it in a deep way. I do not feel separation on the basis of gender, age, religion, or nationality. My adventure to South India made me open-minded.
My previous art paths: interior design, illustrations of books.
