THE ARCTIC FOG
I am alone in the vastness where time has fallen silent.
I have no one to talk to, no one but God...

A sigh of the sea.
Clouds of fog
took the fast-sleeping city without a fight,
providing with their invasion a reason
for justification for the lit lanterns,
bored with nothing to do at this time.
Sound died.
Time got lost.
Blind, deafened space
got stuck in a boggy silence,
and all movement ceased -
the kingdom of dreams had arrived.
The world is a watercolor,
blurred by the fog,
which for some reason spared you,
a bridge
over the surface of the water
that reflected the fog,
a dim lamp of a distant window,
and the blue of the sky,
where the shy pale moon
hovered high, sublimely,
immeasurably lonely -
a soul saved by a
blurred watercolor.

Я один в просторах, где умолкло время.
Не с кем говорить мне, не с кем кроме Бога...

Вздох моря.
Облака тумана
без боя взяли крепко спящий город,
своим нашествием предоставляя повод,
для оправдания зажжённым фонарям,
скучающим без дела в эту пору.
Звук умер.
Время заблудилось.
Ослепшее, оглохшее пространство
увязло в топкой тишине, и прекратилось
движенье всякое, –
настало царство
грёз.
Мир – акварель,
размытая туманом,
зачем-то пощадившим
тебя,
мостки
над гладью отразившей
в себе туман воды,
лампаду тусклую далёкого окна
да синеву небес, где реяла высоко,
возвышенно, безмерно одиноко
застенчивая бледная луна –
душа спасённая
размытой акварели.
