Картина "Composition # 476"
5000 €
The painting was exhibited in Moscow at a group exhibition in June 2025 at the “ArtMaison” Gallery, curated by Anna Saroyan.
In the photographs: a) the exhibition curator holds a glass of wine b) curator‘s tour c) I am sitting in an armchair beneath my painting.
The painting is multi-layered, profound, and philosophical. It exudes harmony, love, dreams, and inspiration.
Those familiar with my art praised the use of cold tones, despite my traditional preference for warm and even hot colors. Experts said that I had embarked on a new series: not just abstract geometricism, but SYMBOLIC geometric abstraction.
Those who knew the nature of northern Europe could easily read the symbolism of the painting. It is divided into three parts. The upper part is like the sky, the middle part the sea, and the lower part the land.
Let’s look at the picture from top to bottom.
The sky above the observer is usually darker than the sky closer to the horizon, and the two upper bands convey this.
Sunsets in northern Europe are usually restrained in terms of color, often featuring shades of lilac and yellow rather than orange or red, as indicated by the narrow and thin lines.
The sea often takes on an azure hue, reminded by the next band. When viewed from a distance, the sea appears bleached, as indicated by the light blue band. Closer to the observer, the color of the water is rich, and this is the next stripe.
Let's move on down to the land. The gray stripe stands for the coastal rocks. The blue stripe recalls the color of the rivers. The brown stripe renders the soil. The emerald stripe indicates the grass, and the green stripe represents the forest.
