The additional title of this painting is “Skies”
It was featured on the back cover of my solo 2016 Catalogue.
It makes part of a diptych with the "Bodies" composition.
This painting was exhibited at numerous group exhibitions and at several solo shows.
Images of the painting are in books published with my co-authorship.
I painted this Composition # 86 “Skies” in oils, under artificial lighting. The gradations of blue and light blue were born by themselves, and I made out the curves with a pencil on the canvas FROM THE SHOULDER, as usual, when I mark out shapes with a pencil on the canvas; that is, the movement is not of the hand, but of the entire length of the arm from the shoulder.
The Mediterranean Sea and the sky of the French Riviera are embedded in the gradations because many months I admired them, I spent a total of 45 months there since 2003.
Fashion designer Lydia Fahretdinova used this one and my other paintings to create models of unique designer clothes.
Taking a lyrical stance, I say: When we love, our bodies and souls merge into a single whole. This connection exists regardless of the distance between us. This state is called Quantum Love.
This blue composition "Skies" is contrasted to the gold brown composition "Bodies" as sublime and spiritual against physical and mundane. The diptych is like a map for wandering souls, indicating two directions colorfully expressed by the artist. The down-to-earth part is "Bodies" and the poetic part is "Skies", as an antithesis, containing an eternal conflict. But the conflict here is not only in meanings. The two paths consist of winding and intersecting roads. The material density of the brown-gold color meanders by uncomplicated intersections that visually converge in a single golden center of the painting. At the same time, the whole composition tends to the bottom, as if pressed to the ground. On the other hand, the bluish transparency of this painting "Skies", like the subtlety of a disembodied spirit, forms a more intricate pattern, it seems that the roads of the spiritual path go both left and right, up and down; there are more of them than material paths, they overwhelm each other, forming many layers and penetrations. Light and floating, they seem to fly apart in different directions. They seem to outline the main path that rises upward to the dark blue color. Obese, addictive "Bodies" and airy, inviting "Skies" offer a telling juxtaposition.
