The painting by Oleg Mayorov “The Twilight Watch” again refers to the image of the guardian cat, but this time presents it in a more monumental and mysterious manner than in other works of the series.
The central character is a huge black cat, whose figure is hypertrophied and stretched vertically, resembling either an obelisk or a stylized perfume bottle. Its fur is rendered with thousands of thin, dark strokes, creating a sense of incredible density and velvety texture.
