In this work, Antonio Lebedef transforms painting into a space of internal rupture — a moment when the individual breaks free from digital traps and reclaims the right to hear their own nature.
The painting is created in his unique signature style of glitch-surrealism — an artistic language that combines errors, breaks, and distortions with the poetics of a hyperreal world.
The silhouette emerging from the clouds is not only a symbol of freedom but also an image of a person breaking out of structured reality: the vertical stripes resemble data, code lines that restrict movement.
Passing through them, the form ceases to be fixed and becomes a possibility — an act of birth of a new “self.”
This work is part of the artist’s research on the influence of the digital environment on the psyche and perception. Currently, Lebedef collaborates closely with neuroscientists and Skolkovo laboratories, studying how informational noise reprograms attention, emotional responses, and a person’s capacity for free choice. In “Перекодированной свободе,” these processes are visually manifested as glitches, shifts, and breaks in the field of vision — the very invisible interferences that permeate the consciousness of the modern person.
The predominance of deep blue tones sets an emotional frequency:
the color of silence, intuition, and reason, connected to the inner space of a person.
It does not merely color the image — it affects the viewer, helping to balance inner chaos and tune into one’s own movement.
“Перекодированная свобода” is a transitional painting.
Not an escape from the world, but a passage through its noise to the center,
where freedom is not a promise but a state.
