The painting "Friday Evening" exudes an atmosphere of cozy symmetry. The centerpiece of the composition is a table covered with a tablecloth of rich red-pink color—a juicy, berry shade that immediately draws the eye and sets a warm, relaxed mood.
On both sides of the table are two completely different vases, creating a special rhythm and interest. On the left is a tall, slender vase decorated with horizontal stripes. On the right is a plump, rounded, cheerful vase covered with a polka dot pattern. Despite their contrasting characters, both are filled with lush bouquets of pink tulips—the delicate petals seem to soften the contrast of shapes and unify the composition.
Between the two vases, exactly in the center, stands a wine glass with red wine on a thin stem. The ruby depth of the drink shimmers in the crystal light, inviting a first sip in honor of the long-awaited rest.
In front of the wine glass, in the most prominent spot, lies an open small volume of poetry. Its yellowed pages and worn binding reveal the owner's love of poetry—the lines beckon to dive into them, forgetting the day's worries.
The background completes the picture—a deep purple color with a light vertical stripe.
Ultimately, "Friday Evening" is a hymn to the harmony of contrasts: the tall and plump vases, the strict stripe and playful polka dot, the passionate color of the tablecloth and the tenderness of the tulips, wine and poetry. Together, they create the perfect image for a leisurely evening filled with beauty.
The painting is done on canvas mounted on cardboard. The technique is mixed: acrylic paints, acrylic markers, and oil pastels.
