This original work "Atlas" was created by contemporary Russian artist Roman Milyutin and is available for purchase online.

Executed in the finest traditions of the Weidha style. It is part of the collectible edition "Places of Memory." Winner of a bronze award at the prestigious Art Excellence Awards (AEA) competition.

Roman Milyutin's painting "Atlas" is a riot of color and form, an expressive canvas that challenges traditional landscape depiction. The title refers to the myth of the titan holding up the sky, perfectly matching the monumental and somewhat chaotic nature of this piece.

The viewer is presented with a multilayered, rich landscape where natural elements merge into a single whirlwind of energy. The upper part of the painting is dominated by the sky, painted with thick, vibrating strokes of blue and white, reminiscent of raging clouds or icy mountain peaks that seem to press down on the surrounding space. Here, among the blue mountains, a mysterious dark triangle is noticeable, serving as a focal point and alluding to geometric alchemy.

The rocky mountains framing the scene are rendered in contrasting, almost phosphorescent colors—from earthy green to bright, unnatural purple—giving the landscape a sense of alienness or an inner, emotional experience.

The central part of the painting is pierced by a powerful blue river, painted with striking dynamism. The water does not simply flow; it pulses, its strokes creating the illusion of rapid movement and depth. The river divides the canvas into several asymmetrical valleys.

The landscape in the lower part is a kaleidoscope of textures and shades. Warm ochre and golden tones dominate the left side, interspersed with red and orange fantastic plants. On the right, the earth is also golden but dotted with pink flowers. Milyutin rejects realistic depiction of flora, replacing it with bright, emotional spots. In the lower part of the painting, a solitary dark tree stands on the bank of the turbulent river, serving as another element that challenges the overall disharmony.

"Atlas" by Roman Milyutin is not a map of terrain but a map of the inner world or perhaps a planet undergoing geological or spiritual cataclysm. The painting is full of energy, untamed force, and bold color combinations conveying the sense of nature’s power, which simultaneously destroys and creates.

This painting can be hung on the wall in your apartment, house, office, restaurant, or hotel, and it will become a wonderful decoration for your interior.
