Once, during my active work as a label and packaging designer in the alcoholic beverage industry, I received an interesting creative assignment from an agency considering candidates for a vacancy. It had to be completed before the interview.
The task was to present concept sketches for beer under the general series: Mascaron characters. These are decorative elements used in the architecture of bridges, fountains, and houses in Europe, especially in France. These motifs and bas-reliefs depict elves and spirits of pagan Europe, who controlled nature, the elements, and the world. So, of course, I completed the assignment and sent it; they immediately showed interest and even invited me for an interview, but for some reason, I changed my mind.
Later, I returned to this theme and created my own wine packaging project «Legend of the Mascarons», which, by the way, is presented on my second Behance profile dedicated to design and can be purchased for implementation by any winemaking company.
