He makes us look at ourselves from a different perspective, to accept our “dark” side, because it is precisely in these “monsters” that we can see a reflection of ourselves. The painting is a kind of carnival where fear intertwines with curiosity, and ugliness with attraction, prompting the viewer to reflect on the nature of fear, desires, and what makes us “monsters”.
