This original work «Evening plantain» was created by contemporary Russian artist Derun Ekaterina and is available for purchase online.
Ekaterina Derun's painting «Evening plantain» is a close-up landscape study that transforms ordinary elements of nature into a complex, multifaceted composition.
In the foreground, large dense plantain leaves dominate, rendered in the artist’s characteristic style—as if they consist of numerous connected geometric planes. The leaves are a rich green color with visible veins emphasized by dark lines, giving them an almost crystalline structure.
Among the plantain leaves rise long thin flower stalks, also stylized with faceted shapes. Their light greenish-yellow hue contrasts with the darker greenery of the foliage. Around the main motif, other grasses are depicted in a similar geometric style.
On the right, as a contrasting element, there is a large stone or rock fragment, also broken into many geometric planes in cool bluish-gray tones. The stone creates a sense of stillness and eternity against the fragile vegetation.
The background of the painting is an abstract combination of dark and light geometric shapes, reminiscent of deep shadows or reflections.
Derun’s «Evening plantain» is not just a depiction of field grass but an exploration of how even the simplest natural objects can be reimagined through geometry. The artist creates an astonishing dialogue between organic form and strict structure.
This painting can be hung on the wall in your apartment, house, office, restaurant, or hotel, becoming a wonderful decoration for your interior.
