A new series of my paintings is dedicated to the East, specifically my trip to Egypt in March 2021. I spent an entire month in this mysterious country, traveling through the most ancient cities, admiring the pyramids, ancient temples, and tombs of the pharaohs, exploring the heritage of the historical museum in Cairo, living unforgettable days and nights in the vast endless desert, and scuba diving in the depths of the Red Sea.
The history of the state, ruled by 30 dynasties of Pharaohs and several centuries of the Roman Empire, has been known to the world for 5,000 years. All the best, all the most progressive developments in the history of ancient civilizations came to this country: advanced technologies for constructing giant religious buildings (the height of the pyramids is 150 meters—about a 50-story building), decorating the tombs of the pharaohs with ancient paints (the colors of which remain as pure and bright as 3,500 years ago), majestic statues and temples, whose power you feel as soon as you approach them.
For 5,000 years, the rulers and ordinary people of Egypt have regarded Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Precious Stones as their primary personal assets. Hundreds of exhibits of elite women's and men's jewelry from ancient dynasties, gold sarcophagi, and pharaoh masks are housed in the treasury of the historical museum in Cairo. But you don’t need to visit the museum to feel Egyptian culture; just walk through the streets of the cities and observe the Egyptian women and men. Women wear colorful dresses that cover their entire bodies, but over the dress, you will see dozens of gold chains with stones and beads. Men prefer silver jewelry on their fingers and wrists.
The beautiful eyes of the Egyptian people also resemble precious jewelry. Their colors range from the deepest black to bright turquoise and emerald. The combination of such human beauty with jewelry was a new discovery for me, an unforgettable feeling that I express through my paintings.
The painting is created with active, lively strokes, conveying the play and movement of colors. The oil medium is expressed through the fluidity of its texture. The composition of the painting moves, changes, and adapts to your mood.
The sides of the painting continue the image, so you do not need to frame it.
Made on high-quality canvas (100% cotton), with a canvas density of 300 g/m², stretched on a high-quality wooden stretcher frame. The best Russian oil paints produced in St. Petersburg were used.
I did not attach hangers to the back but will include them with the package.
