On World Poetry Day, 21.03.2026 – in the 1900s, Ivan Alekseevich Bunin lived at house No. 4 in the southern part of Trubnikovsky Lane.
The lane was divided into two unequal parts in 1962 by Kalinin Avenue (New Arbat).
Previously, the lane was called Chyortov, Streletsky, and Krechetnikovsky – the first name was not very suitable for the residents.
At the end of the lane is the "inserted jaw," as the locals called the high-rises on Arbat: rows of new concrete skyscrapers looked like artificial teeth among the old low-rise houses.
An interesting fact: house No. 19 housed the Udelnoye Department with wine cellars of the well-known Prince Golitsyn. In the 1980s, the fight against drunkenness intensified, and the cellars were closed. Also, the courtyard of this house was used for filming the movie "Romance for Lovers" by A. Konchalovsky.
