My canvas is the interface between reality and illusion. I make the dream and the matter-of-fact life slide into each other to spark a poetic encounter.
I have a very personal connection to color. The color is my intellectual quest. I use colors on the palette sparingly but expressively and often they are pure colors “from the tube”. It is not a matter of the number of colors, it is a matter of their strong juxtaposition. My colors are associated with the brilliance of the human spirit. At the same time, they are pure, evoking cosmic infinity. The juxtaposition of colors modifies their perception and produces specific psychological effects. I free colors from their mimetic requirement. I promote a sensitive experience and emotion linked to color. My colors get through right to the viewer’s senses, to give more sensory – and thereby more subjective - experiences.
This painting was exhibited at the exhibition of abstract art at Peter the Great Academy of Sciences and Arts in Moscow in the autumn of 2023 and at other group exhibitions.
