This original artwork, "Shaman - Composition # 364," was created by contemporary Russian artist Iskan Ilyazov and is available for purchase online.

A shamanic totem of spoilage for the enemy – primarily for the chief of a tribe known for its bright battle paint. The name of the tribe is taboo, to avoid jinxing.

I am a cave artist, an assistant to the shaman - medicine man!

Risking my life, I ventured into the lands of a foreign tribe and obtained dark brown spellworking ocher from under the river clay cliff. I ground a piece of chalk mineral between two flat quartzite stones that I inherited from previous cave artists of our tribe.

From our tribe’s pile of enemy skulls, I selected the thinnest one, extracted the flattest bone – the forehead bone, sharpened it on a piece of sandstone, ground the narrow side until it was straight – and fashioned a kind of palette knife.

I thoroughly prepared for the painting part of my work!

Last summer, under a hypnotic full moon, I gathered entrancing fly agarics and copper mushrooms in a magical clearing, dried them, and crushed them between my quartz stones. Now I mixed them and dissolved them in magical water from the sorcery hollow tree.

I meditated for three days and drank this entrancing tincture, and when I felt the strength of a young man, I drank the blood of my tribe’s enemy from a horn, ate his roasted liver; mixed ochre with chalk and mammoth fat, and began painting on a lynx skin treated with spruce bark extract. I know the occult pattern from my ancestors, and it works wonders!

While the totem composition is drying, the shaman medicine man performs enchanting rituals around it three times a day and charges it with terrible power.

Now I give you a sneak peek at my artistic endeavors of today in February 2022 A.D. My good pal, a weathered painter, stretched dense linen on a sturdy stretcher from his old supplies for me and applied acrylic primer after stretching. I meticulously added three layers of green and brown Maimeri Polycolor Italian acrylic, followed by Maimeri Classico oil paints mixed with Maimeri Classico zinc white.

Finally, back to the story and putting on the hat of a cave artist. Why all this extra effort? Because if this totem doesn't work and the enemy wins, he’ll fry and eat my tribe and me into the bargain, smacking his lips.

You can hang this painting on the wall in your apartment, house, office, restaurant, or hotel, and it will become a wonderful decoration for your interior.
