This original work, «A line that doesn't exist», was created by contemporary Russian artist Tatiana Rakitina and is available for purchase online.
Despite its very intriguing title, the painting carries a deep meaning about our uniqueness and the mystery hidden behind the life path. Each person's fate unfolds according to laws unknown to us. Our daily choices become another knot in the pattern of life. Some believe in destiny from above, some in genetics, some in character, and others in the wheel of fortune. No matter how many books we read, we will not find the predestination of our lives and will still find ourselves alone in the labyrinth of our path.
The painting depicts a young lady in an elegant dress with delicate stems resembling intertwined fates, and bright colors — symbols of fateful moments and significant events. She holds a book in her hands; her posture is calm and balanced. It seems that, having noticed us, she was distracted from reading and turned her clear and pure gaze toward the viewer. The books and clock in the background refer to history and stories, philosophy and wisdom of previous generations, prompting reflection. The lady’s facial expression is calm and focused. If you look closely, you can see a small icon on the top shelf depicting a little Virgin holding a lily — a symbol of purity and innocence. What if the heroine of the painting was distracted from prayer? We do not know what is written on the open page. Perhaps she is reading about how to properly care for violets? By the way, in Victorian floriography, the violet symbolized the purity of love. But we live in an era of total digitalization, where the simple ability to enjoy a small flower becomes a luxury. The main thing is that violets are a beautiful metaphor for tender relationships. These fragile flowers always gratefully respond to care!
This painting can be hung on the wall in your apartment, house, office, restaurant, or hotel, and it will become a wonderful decoration for your interior.
