The painting "In the Light" is about the fragility and strength of nature. I wanted to convey the sense of contrast between the harsh sky, heavy clouds, and an unexpected burst of light illuminating the wave and the solitary cormorant on the rock. This light highlights moments of solitude and freedom, when even on the gloomiest day nature reveals its beauty. The theme of inner resilience is dear to me, and I tried to express it through this cormorant, calmly facing the elements.
In my works, I don’t use white paint or any paints that contain white pigment. All the white areas are simply the paper. I personally tested all my paints for lightfastness, so the colors will remain unchanged even after 50–70 years.
