A few years ago, I was passionate about sailing—I took part in regattas and traveled on yachts. It was a time of a special kind of freedom and real adventure. In this painting, the yacht, just like I once did, longs for the sea while resting in a quiet bay. Here, the calm water, golden reeds, and a gentle yearning for new journeys all come together.
In my works, I don’t use white paint or any paints that contain white pigment. All the white areas are simply the paper. I personally tested all my paints for lightfastness, so the colors will remain unchanged even after 50–70 years.
