This painting is my response to the cruel injustice that still exists in our world. Bullfighting, in my opinion, is a bloody ritual that should have been left in the past. The bull that is brought to the arena becomes a sacrifice for the sake of spectacle, and this is what I wanted to show: behind the external choreography of the fight, there is a real tragedy. In the painting, the action is in full swing, but it is the shadow that indicates the cruel killing of an animal for the amusement of the public. This work is my way of drawing attention to the fact that such “traditions” should not exist in modern society. I dream of the day when bullfighting will disappear forever.
