This original work «THE AMULET FOR HUMANITY» was created by contemporary Russian artist Oleg Mayorov and is available for purchase online.
The client requested to depict a medallion featuring two symbols of sacred energy: a dove - the Holy Spirit - in the Christian tradition, and a serpent - Kundalini - in the Vedic traditions. In all the initial sketches, it looked as if the serpent was hunting the dove.
I entered meditation and allowed my hand to draw something independent of consciousness. The result was a serpent and a dove head to head in a kind of tender unity. At the same time, the serpent seemed to have woven a nest for the dove from its own body - Kundalini preparing the person from within for their encounter with the Holy Spirit descending from above.
There was free space left on the medallion, where inscriptions were placed: Kundalini in Sanskrit and the Holy Spirit in Hebrew.
