Imagine a fantastic place where the symbols of famous rock bands are frozen in materialized forms: elements of the covers of the most famous albums, as well as allegorical visual symbols.
Nowadays, many people listen to music as individual songs, often online without any connection to the album covers. Unfortunately, the album cover itself has lost its significance for those who love music because the album itself is no longer as important. What matters is the song that can be listened to separately. In the second half of the 20th century, music was listened to on vinyl records, and its appearance sometimes took on a visible embodiment of the music itself, creating a special effect and awakening the imagination. Sometimes these were true works of art. Albums were arranged thematically, and conceptual meanings were created.
It is based on that music that I painted this picture, inspired by great bands.
For connoisseurs of old rock, explanations are unnecessary, but I still love precision, so I will provide a complete list of the images used.
The rock with faces – Deep Purple album "In Rock" (1970).
The prism covering snowy mountains – Pink Floyd "The Dark Side of the Moon" (1973)
The castle-guitar – Rainbow "Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow" (1975)
Rolling stones embody the band The Rolling Stones
The yellow submarine embodies the band The Beatles
The stone emblem – Whitesnake "Restless Heart" (1997)
The figure running along the neck of the road – Manfred Mann’s Earth Band "Watch" (1978)
The stone house against the background of an autumn forest – Black Sabbath "Black Sabbath" (1970)
The airship in the sky embodies the band Led Zeppelin
The mechanical head in the sky – Uriah Heep compilation "Totally Driven" (2015)
