Just recently I completed a portrait of my brother as the ancient Greek God Dionysus. As you know, Dionysus patronized winemaking and vegetation. How did I come up with this idea? In general, I have long wanted to paint a portrait of my brother. But painting just a portrait was boring for me. I wanted to find a suitable image for him, so that it would be beautiful in color and plasticity. At first I was inspired by the image of a Faun. I thought of depicting my brother with horns on his head and surrounded by flowers. But then I saw how beautiful he looks in a wreath of pink flowers. Next, I chose the background - various shades of red, the background seemed to symbolize wine.A bottle of wine in hand, a golden glass in front and here it is, the image of Dionysus is ready. Do you think it suits my brother to play the role of an ancient Greek God?
