The Aksakov House is a charming old mansion with Empire-style columns. It was built on Sivtsev Vrazhek Lane in 1822. Behind it stands the building of the Kremlin polyclinic. It was intended to become another showcase of the achievements of Soviet power—this time in the field of healthcare. Hence its pompous appearance and overall scale—it was the most prominent building in the low-rise lane.
