The Hanging Gardens of Semiramis — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was an engineering structure in Babylon featuring a cascade of multi-level gardens where numerous species of trees and shrubs grew.
The exact location of the gardens has not been definitively established. The very existence of the gardens is questioned, as no Babylonian texts mentioning them have survived; descriptions exist only from later ancient Greek and Roman authors, and archaeological excavations in the presumed area have also yielded no results.
