Great Novgorod attracts its cozy center with its winding streets, surrounded by trees and old buildings. The city is full of historical monuments, literally on every street you can find an old temple or monastery, but the main one is of course the 14th century Novgorod kremlin and the impressive Sofia cathedral.
In three days I felt comfortable and calm while there. Saw the place where Vladimir Stozharov wrote his paintings, visited the museum of fine arts, where with surprise found the hotly loved originals of the paintings of Levitane and Shishkin.
Great Novgorod with its unique atmosphere and rich history is worth visiting or even staying)
