Zozulya Olga Yuryevna was born in 1979 in the city of Ufa. An applied artist, painter, graphic artist, candidate of pedagogical sciences, member of the Union of Artists of Russia.

She graduated from the Ufa Children's Art School (1993); Ufa College of Arts with two specialties: "Painter-Teacher" and "Designer in Architectural and Spatial Environment" (1994–1999); Bashkir State Pedagogical University at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Graphics, where she focused particularly on printmaking and batik (1999–2004). She defended her candidate dissertation in the city of Yaroslavl in 2009.

Since 2003, she has been a member of the association of young artists and art historians under the RO VTOO "Union of Artists of Russia" of the Republic of Bashkortostan. She received a special prize from the M.V. Nesterov Bashkir State Art Museum within the framework of the first republican competition of young artists of Bashkortostan for the best work of fine art (Ufa, 2003). She became a state scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Union of Artists of Russia for creative exploration in the field of fine arts (Moscow, 2005). Since 2013, she has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia.

She worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Graphics of BSPU named after M. Akmulla (Ufa, 2005–2012). She continued her work at the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts in the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts (2012–2024). Currently, she works as a teacher at the Ufa College of Arts.

Olga Zozulya’s creative interests in decorative and applied arts include cold and hot batik, free fabric painting, and mixed techniques. The main themes are floral still life, landscape, and narrative compositions combining motifs of native nature and the architectural distinctiveness of old towns in the form of panels, as well as the stylization of natural forms into ornamental motifs. She works with diptychs, triptychs, and series.

Education

In the process of mastering the technological and artistic techniques of batik, studying under batik artists played a significant role: V.V. Valliulina (Ufa, 1994-1995); an internship in a special seminar on batik technology with V.S. Sokolov (Moscow, 1995); studying at the Ufa School of Arts under textile artist L.I. Khabibrakhmanova (Ufa, 1994-1999); an internship at the «Center of Batik by Sergey Davydov» in the master class «Batik. Technique. Methods» (Moscow, 2003, 2005). Completed qualification (museum) practice and individual internship at the State Museum of the East under the guidance of senior researcher and specialist in Indonesian fabrics G.M. Sorokina (Moscow, 2003, 2004).

In 2006, to transfer experience in batik technique in Ufa, she organized the creative collective «Ufimsky batik», consisting of young artists and gifted students based at the Children's Technical Creativity Center «Biktyrysh» in Ufa. The works and creative collections of the «Ufimsky batik» collective became laureates and diploma holders of a number of international, all-Russian, republican, and city competitions - exhibitions and fashion contests, and were repeatedly awarded diplomas from the Vyacheslav Zaitsev Fashion House for collections made using cold and hot batik techniques. For constant creative search and contribution to the promotion of Ufa's culture, the «Ufimsky batik» collective was awarded the title of «Exemplary Collective» (Ufa, 2012). In 2013, at the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts of the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture, she organized the creative collective «South Ural Batik», which became a diploma holder of several all-Russian exhibitions and received a diploma from the international art competition «Moon Cat – 2013» for the high level of costume design of the poncho «People Like Cats» in batik technique (Spain, 2013).

Achievements (awards, articles, exhibitions)

Since 1994, she has actively participated in city, republican, regional, international, including special (decorative and applied arts, easel print graphics) exhibitions. She has taken part in international biennales, triennials, and competitions of print graphics and miniatures. Olga Zozulya's works are held in art museums: in Belgium (Sint-Niklaas), in Croatia (Rijeka, «Kortil» gallery), in Lithuania (Šiauliai), in Romania (Cluj-Napoca), in Italy (Varese), in the Saint Petersburg Foundation «Contemporary Graphics», and in the Chelyabinsk State Museum of Fine Arts. Her paintings are also in several private collections in Russia and abroad.
