Maria Yakovtseva — a Russian artist working in the genre of Impressionism.
Born in Moscow, Maria strives to create works that transport the viewer to the most remote corners of our planet — to places that remain unexplored to this day. Her art is not just a reflection of visual reality but an invitation to embark on an exciting journey around the world, broaden the horizons of perception, and see the diversity and beauty of our planet.
From early childhood, having started drawing, she deepened her knowledge of color and form through studies at the faculty of landscape design.
Working with thick strokes of paint, the artist creates multilayered compositions where every element has its own meaning. «My working method is intuitive. Preferring mixed techniques, I do not work with sketches or drafts and do not use traditional brushes — from the first stroke to the final touches, all my works are entirely done with a palette knife and spatulas. In my opinion, bold, free strokes, creating textured depth and volume, allow the painting to reveal itself more fully, giving it a special charm and individuality.»
