Natalya Kalyanova (pseudonym Kalina) — a contemporary artist working between Moscow and New York. Her practice encompasses landscape and figurative painting, each connected with the observation of humans and nature, the exploration of color, and the transformation of inner experience into visual form.
Natalya primarily works with oil on canvas, using a rich color palette. Her artistic language reveals influences of post-impressionism, fauvism, and pop art, reinterpreted in a contemporary context.
In her landscape painting, the artist goes beyond literal depictions of nature, resorting to abstraction and turning familiar scenes into dreams where earth, sky, and memory merge into a single space. In figurative compositions, the exploration continues through the human body. Here, the artist appeals to a universal language of plasticity, capturing fleeting gestures, lines, and movements where form transforms into poetry, and color saturates the stillness of the figure with inner tension.
Natalya’s works have been exhibited at CUBE Moscow, RedDot Miami Art Week, as well as galleries and museums in the USA and Russia, including Maison Ten Gallery (New York), MORA Museum (Jersey City), The Living Gallery (Brooklyn), and Liora Redman Art Gallery (Miami).
The artist is a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia
Her works are held in private collections in the USA, Europe, and Russia. The artist actively collaborates with galleries, art consultants, and interior designers.
