Vera Bondar

Vera Bondar

Country: Latvia ·Born in 1987

Vera Bondar is an artist working in the classical academic tradition. In her works, she follows the traditions of classical drawing based on P. P. Chistyakov’s system, paying special attention to form, light and shadow, character, and texture of the image, as well as the traditions of the French school of painting of the late 19th century, focusing on color, color relationships, and palette. The main directions of her creativity are oil painting, drawing, portraits, landscapes, and architectural motifs. Vera’s works convey a subtle attention to detail, atmosphere, and the depiction of the play of light and time of day, to the details of objects and the inner state of the image.

A special place in her work is occupied by urban landscapes of Riga and Latvian nature, conveyed through a combination of coziness, silence, and depth of space. Vera Bondar’s paintings are distinguished by restrained color harmony, contrast between light and dark planes, and expressive composition. Her works are held in private collections, used in interiors, and created both for personal commissions and exhibition projects.
