Hi, I'm Marina Khakimova, an artist. I work using a technique I developed myself, based on sgraffito. My technique is unique; it has no analogues in the world. Many people, when they see my work in person, think it's a print because the texture of my paintings is filigree, the scraping so fine that you'd be hard-pressed to spot the blade marks with the naked eye. The technique is painstaking and complex; it's more like graphics in the constraint and precision of the movements. The work is done on wood or plywood; canvas is not suitable, as a more stable surface is needed. Each piece develops gradually, and creating a drawing takes hours and days.
