Darya is a contemporary self-taught artist from Vyatka.
She was born in the Vyatka hinterland in 1991.
Education – graphic designer. Over 12 years of experience in the design field.
Presented on online platforms under the pseudonym DASH DASH.
Her early works were created in an abstract style using texture, inspired by natural shades and landscapes, as well as portraits of women in pop-art style.
Currently, the artist is inspired by the history of her native land. She paints pictures featuring Dymkovo toys. This is a traditional craft of making handmade clay figurines. They depict animals, people, or fairy tale scenes. They have bright coloring with characteristic ornaments and gold leaf fragments.
Her paintings resonate with the warmth and naivety of the Russian province.
Also, Darya draws inspiration from the works of famous artists, integrating the image of a Vyatka noblewoman into existing scenes. In this way, the artist popularizes the craft of her native region, calling it contemporary art in the Vyatka style.
