Darya is a contemporary self-taught artist from Vyatka.
She was born in the Vyatka hinterland in 1991.
Education – graphic designer. She has over 12 years of experience in the design field.
She is represented on online platforms under the pseudonym DASH DASH.
Her early works were created in an abstract style using texture, inspired by natural shades and landscapes, as well as portraits of women in pop-art style.
Currently, the artist is inspired by the history of her native land. She paints pictures featuring Dymkovo toys. These are traditional handmade clay figurines depicting animals, people, or fairy-tale scenes with characteristic ornaments and fragments of gold leaf.
Her paintings resonate with the warmth and naivety of the Russian province.
Additionally, Darya draws inspiration from the paintings of famous artists, integrating the image of a Vyatka noblewoman into existing scenes. In this way, the artist popularizes the craft of the Vyatka region, calling it contemporary Vyatka-style art.
