Kamenev Alexey Vasilyevich

Born on August 20, 1976, in the city of Penza.

1991–1994 – studied at the Vocational Technical School specializing in "Artistic Wood Carving".

1994–1999 – studied and graduated with honors from the Penza Art College named after K.A. Savitsky, department of easel painting. He studied under the instructors

B.D. Borisov and A.L. Omelchenko.

2007–2011 – studied and graduated with honors from the Penza State Pedagogical University named after V.G. Belinsky, majoring in "Fine Arts".

2003 – Accepted as a member of the Union of Artists of Russia.

2004 – Nominee of the First All-Russian Exhibition of Young Artists at the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow.

2006 – Worked at the International Creative Residency in Croatia in the cities of Trogir, Split, Dubrovnik, Primošten, Šibenik.

2008 – Worked at the International Creative Residency in Croatia in the cities of Pula, Poreč, Opatija, Zadar, Trogir.

2009 – Participant of the IV International Plein Air in Montenegro.

2010 – Participant of the XII International Plein Air in Montenegro.

2015 – Member of the board of the Penza regional branch of the Union of Artists of Russia.

Since 1996 – has participated in more than 150 exhibitions, including regional, national, and international levels.

Works are held in the collection of the Penza Art Gallery named after K.A. Savitsky; the National Art Gallery, Yoshkar-Ola;

Vyatka Art Museum named after V.M. and A.M. Vasnetsov, Kirov;

Buzuluk Local History Museum;

Literary and Memorial Museum of Fyodor Abramov, Verkola village, Arkhangelsk region;

Art Gallery, Yadrin, Chuvashia;

State Gallery named after A.A. Kadyrov, Grozny;

Beijing Museum of Fine Arts, China.

Education

Achievements (awards, articles, exhibitions)

An active participant in over 150 exhibitions, including regional, all-Russian, and international levels. The most significant are "Young Artists of Russia" (2002, 2007, 2010), "Russia X" (2004), "Great Volga in Moscow" (2009), "Russia XIII" (2019), held at the Central House of Artists in Moscow. All-Russian art exhibitions: "Russia – My Motherland!" in Saransk; "Unity" in Nizhny Novgorod; "Continuing Traditions"; "Generational Connection"; "Center of Russia" in Voronezh (2023). Also, the final exhibition of the young artists' competition at the State Tretyakov Gallery in September 2004.

Repeatedly participated in international plein airs and exhibitions.

 Based on the results of 2003 and 2022, Aleksey Kamenev was awarded the Governor of Penza Region’s prize for achievements in professional artistic creativity.

His inspired and excellent work has twice been recognized with diplomas from the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation "For Success in Creativity and Contribution to the Development of Fine Arts in Russia".

 In 2009, A. Kamenev was among the first to be awarded the "For Mastery" medal in painting, established by the International Foundation "Cultural Heritage". 

2010 – Gold Badge and Honorary Diploma of the Foundation for achievements in fine arts. 

2012 – Diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts.

2015 – Certificate of Honor from the Head of the Penza City Administration "For Merits in the Development of Art". 

2017 – Diploma of the Russian Academy of Arts "For a series of paintings dedicated to Russian nature".

2020 – Gratitude from the Governor of Penza Region for many years of fruitful creative activity and significant contribution to the development of fine arts and culture of Penza Region.

2025 – Gratitude from the Russian Academy of Arts.
