My name is Svetlana Makarova, I live in Donetsk. I have been engaged in creative work since I was a child. Art is an important part of my life. Without formal education but with boundless imagination, I teach myself painting, developing my own unique style and my vision of the world through images in my paintings. I paint in the genres of magical realism, symbolism, and surrealism, sometimes blending styles on a single canvas.
Some of my paintings are held in private collections in Russia and the USA.
My style and work have been influenced by artists such as Salvador Dali, Henri Rousseau, Michael Parkes, Ilen Meyer, Freydun Rassouli, Vladimir Kush, and others.
My work is a journey into worlds where dreams intertwine with reality, and magic becomes an integral part of life.
In my paintings, I aim to show the interconnectedness of all things and express the inexpressible through my thought-images; I share my experience of perceiving the world and those who shape it.
