Elena Martens lives in Russia, in the city of Rostov-on-Don. She graduated from the Yekaterinburg Art School specializing in jewelry. Since 2006, she has fully devoted herself to painting. She works in various styles and directions but prefers realism and impressionism. Her palette consists of pure, saturated colors, sometimes even aggressive (if the subject requires it), and a harmony of contrasts. She uses palette knives in her work. Her favorite themes are picturesque European city docks with numerous yacht moorings and small towns with unique architecture. Another favorite theme of her paintings is the female image in a fantasy style and scenes in the style of "Courteous Mannerism."
Elena is a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia.
She has participated in creative art exhibitions in Russia, the international exhibition "Four Seasons, Amsterdam" in 2017, and an international exhibition in Italy, in Montecosaro, July 2019.
Elena Martens' paintings are mainly exhibited in galleries in Rostov-on-Don and are held in private collections in Russia, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Israel, and the USA.
