I was born in St. Petersburg, USSR.
In 1981 y. I graduated from the Leningrad Art Сollege. In 1993, I moved to Israel. I have participated in many group and solo exhibitions. Works are in private collections in Israel, Russia, Germany, France, U.S.
My love for abstract art has begun in Israel. Before I moved to Israel I was a realist painter and didn’t imagine that my consciousness will change so drastically.
Abstract art is still a mystery to people. The abstract expands human consciousness. Combinations of dark and light, warm and cold, large and small – a dot, a line, a stain – the small arsenal of means with which rhythm, dynamics and harmony are created.
The painting that I consider completed is a painting that inspires a sense of harmony. That sense is like a melody in which every accord is at right place. I consider the abstract to be the most “capricious” and unpredictable form of art, because a good abstraction is rare and it cannot be artificially called into existence. Same as music, really.
