Aleksandr Doroshkevich

Russia
Born in 1960

Aleksandr Andromeda Dor is a russian artist, writer and traveler whose work is closely tied to the search for answers to eternal questions of existence. His paintings reflect a desire for a deep understanding of the world and the human soul, as well as a transition from the mundane to the mystical and the secret. The combination of transparent colors with dense textures in his works creates light-and-shadow effects that give his paintings a unique luminosity and depth.

His artistic style balances at the intersection of three genres: mythology, mysticism, and cosmism.

Drawing has been Aleksandr's main passion since childhood. He began his professional career in his hometown Omsk, becoming a member of the first association of avant-garde artists in Siberia, "Echo" and "Сross" (1987-1989).

In 1989, he moved to St. Petersburg, where he discovered an extraordinary world of creativity among diverse artists. He was fortunate to live and work for several years in well-known artistic studios in St. Petersburg.

Aleksandr dedicated many years to traveling East to the great mountains of Altai and Himalaya. One reason for this was his desire to visit places where the Roerich family had lived, to whose creativity and life path he always felt a strong connection.

From that time mountains became a special source of inspiration for Aleksandr. In the mountains he was filled with energy and the mysteries of the world; he gazed into and listened to the multidimensional spaces of their depths in search of the magical land of Shambhala, later translating these experiences into his paintings and books.

Since 2010, Aleksandr has participated in thematic art exhibitions in St. Petersburg.

In the fall of 2017, an exhibition featuring his paintings took place in Los Angeles as part of the BUDART project - "International Meditative Art Exhibition."

In March 2020, solo exhibition "Horizon of Silence" at the gallery "Master" in St. Petersburg.

In March 2021, virtual exhibition "SoulRise" at the "Lark Gallery" in Сalifornia, USA.
