Yuri Artyushkin from Novosibirsk calls himself the «Unknown Artist». He is a science fiction and surrealist painter, musician, and craftsman who makes exotic musical instruments, as well as a traveler.
The main motif of Artyushkin’s romantic canvases is nostalgia for the secluded corners of his hometown, disappearing before his eyes. In his paintings, he depicts the old districts of Novosibirsk, childhood, dreams, mystical visions, and autumn — a special season in Siberia, a moment of magical transformation of reality.
In 2017, based on the series of works «Unknown Siberia», Yuri Artyushkin was featured in the exhibition «Unknown Artist of Unknown Siberia».
