Alexander Elizare was born into the family of artist Boris Elizarov, a student of the honored artist of Russia A.P. Mamontov. From 1995 to 2025, he organized about 23 solo exhibitions. He created more than 700 large paintings, 500 of which are in private collections, including about 50 abroad. In 2005, he published two of his books: the novel "Aborigines of the Black Sea" and the poetry collection "The Abduction of Europa." As an artist, he developed in Yekaterinburg. He studied at the Khozhateleva Art School under Lev Khabarov, an avant-garde and expressionist artist. He considers Vincent Van Gogh his spiritual teacher in painting. Not long ago, specifically between 2010 and 2018, he created several films about Van Gogh.
"Probably every artist is constantly searching for the direction of their creativity; I am no exception. Being a person of impressions, my volitional currents throw me into various painting genres each year. Sometimes I am fascinated by the Impressionists, then suddenly I feel the need for their space and rush into the 'cities' of Cubism. After a while, I fly off into the cosmos of Expressionism, which is boundless. Simply put, I create my own planet inhabited by kind animals, birds, and flowers. I do not worry at all whether I will be liked or not. This is the most interesting and captivating aspect of painting—the freedom of perspective on the world."
