This is a rare instance of a figurative painting in my oeuvre.
Here is my impression of tropical sunsets on the ocean beach, as it were. The picture is charged with the warm energy of the setting sun, evoking a romantic and pensive mood. Yet this is not the end of the story!
This painting looks ostensibly simple. On the face value of it, it looks like a tropical sunset; yet in fact, it is an exercise in the philosophy of time and space. I play with meaning, avoiding conceptual intricacies. It is between reality and art where magic happens that transcends space and time. My canvas is the interface between reality and illusion. I make the dream and the matter-of-fact life slide into each other to spark a poetic encounter!
