However, some points on the map become special to us, and due to personal circumstances, we return to them even in our memories. In the series A Point On The Map, the artist Alexey Savvin shares his personal impressions with viewers and invites them to take part in a metaphorical journey through unique places that reflect the nature, architecture, mythology, poetry, and art of various cultures.
The plastic realization of each work enhances the artist's emotional journey. For each «point on the map», Alexey Savvin employs his own painting technique. Asia is realized through bright acrylic strokes with a roller, while the East is depicted through the delicate technique of glazing. Materials such as charcoal, pastel, oil, and acrylic allow the artist to emphasize the uniqueness and magic of each place, while unusual colours and visual images intensify the sense of surrealism in the experience.
