Natalia Stepanova (born in 1967, Moscow), creative pseudonym Natasha SWAY, is an artist, a member of the Eurasian Art Union, and an honorary member of the International Academy of Contemporary Arts.
"My profession is a microbiologist, and I graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Biology, in 1989. From 1989 to 1994, I worked as a junior researcher at the Research Institute of Microbial Genetics and studied for a PhD. In 1994, I joined an international food company and made a career in this field, progressing from microbiologist to department head.
I have been involved in creative activities throughout my life. In 2022, I was amazed by the effectiveness, realism, and vividness of the flowers created from texture paste by Evgeniya Ermilova. In 2023, Icompleted the full program of her school. Since then, I has been exploring other painting techniques and methods.
In 2023-2024, I studied at a modern painting course, and in 2025, I am studying at the Out of Borders School of Art and Design, where I attend watercolor classes.
My art is a way to express my feelings and emotions. I don't try to change the world; I change myself and create a new world on canvas, which I want to share with the audience and give them emotions and mood through my art. My inspiration comes from everything around us, including nature, cities, and the external and internal cosmos. I love to see the emotions of people who pick up my paintings, their surprise, admiration, and desire to examine the details. In my works, I use a variety of materials and techniques to convey my mood to the viewer, creating a warm atmosphere, spiritual harmony, and a sense of peace, while also encouraging them to stop and reflect."
Since 2024, Natalia has been an active participant in international exhibitions, including "Unique Russia", "Russian House", World Art Dubai (UAE), Jeddah Art Echo: Voices of the World (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia), and exhibitions in China and Serbia. In 2024, she held two solo exhibitions. She has participated in and won several Russian and international competitions. Her works have been published in media and art magazines.
Her artworks are in private collections.
