Unique project — Art Wikipedia «The Great Silk Road» as long as life.
“On May 28, 2016, I started the 100-meter painting «The Great Silk Road». It seemed to be such a grandiose project that I would like to live to see its completion. But as they say «The eyes are afraid, but the hands are doing».
The Silk Road and Filumism. The concept of Filumism is that everything is interconnected with everything. ART Wikipedia «The Great Silk Road» consists of separate volumes. Each volume is a part of the canvas that tells a story, characterizes a country, an era, and also expresses the concept of one of the various techniques of Filumism. Silkworm threads have connected continents for many centuries.
In ART Wikipedia «The Great Silk Road» I combine them with the threads of Filumism: thus one concept is superimposed on another, a new form of painting presentation appears, understandable to both a professor and a child.
Any artist has the power to unite peoples, eras, and phenomena by virtue of his imagination. The same thing was done by the silkworm thread for eight centuries. Wars were unleashed, the great migration of peoples took place, but the "trade road" that arose before our era and developed until the 18th century remained unshakable! New conquerors captured cities, but in the morning, as before, traders went to the market, and life went on.
The Great Silk Road ended its existence in the 18th century, but the disclosure of this theme over 8 years gave me a feeling of living involvement in the long past. Every day I work on the main project of my life - a painting that will connect peoples, religions, cultures, traditions and customs.
The work continues, and I am in anticipation of presenting to the whole world the acrylic thread of Filumism, which is constantly moving, connecting everything and everyone, at the same time constantly returning our memory to the distant past. In my project, I try to reproduce events that have sunk into oblivion, I revive and fill with details the memory of times and peoples, I try to make it close and understandable to modern people through the prism of modern art, through a new style of painting - Filumism.
Today, 100 meters have already been presented to the public.
And what is all this?! ⠀
Almost everyone who saw the picture asked. They asked me not to stop, but to continue. ⠀
While working on the picture, more and more new ideas came to mind, which are already enough for 250-300 meters.
And the last thing - 100 meters did not reveal the whole theme, did not show everything that I wanted to show the viewer. Summarizing all of the above, I thought, why not take a course for a picture one kilometer long?! ⠀
And everyone with whom I consulted unanimously supported me.
Thus, dear friends, the "Great Silk Road" project continues! And his new size is a painting ONE KILOMETER long!

Rene Reza has invented a new style of painting for the 21st century. The essence of the filumism technique is to paint not with a brush, but with a syringe, squeezing paint through a needle and laying it on the surface of the canvas in the form of thin colored threads, creating a kind of non-woven acrylic tapestry.
